Why my Warrior has given up on tanking.
Zaella ( on Argent Dawn) here used to be Melina of Trollbane. I started her because I like to hit & smash things.
The first guild I was in was called Arcadia. The guild leader was a Gnome Warrior. Splat was on a Female Night Elf Priest named Elume & he got into the guild before me. I later joined that guild. We didn’t tell them who was the guy & who was the girl, but they assumed that I was the guy. They were like “Well they can figure out how to play that character on their own.” to me. Needless to say, not a very helpful guild to me at all. I’d ask for help & get a cold shoulder. Not nice. They instead took Elume under their wing & showed Splat how to play the game. Needless to say, he wasn’t much help to me then & basically told me the same thing they did. Figure it out on your own.
The second guild was Avenging Angels, where the guild master had actually bumped into my Hunter first because it was his wife’s nickname from her Mom. Funny how some people meet. Well, Elume had gotten into that guild first once again & then I joined. When the guild leader found out that it was the same person as my Hunter, he was pleased to see that we were there. That was a great guild where I met a lot of good people & made lots of friends. It’s a shame that one of the Officers had made fun of the Guild Leader & the guild fell apart when I had to go to the funeral of my dead sister-in-law (my brother’s wife). Avenging Angels was the first guild where people had actually tried to help others out as much as they could & also the first time my Melina actually tanked for a guild run, which was for Deadmine’s or VC as it was called back then.
We decided before that guild had fallen apart that we should make our own guild. Thus came Fortune Favors which is still on Trollbane & til this day but hardly anyone comes on there anymore.
Anyways, I have tried tanking randoms & such so many times on this girl that I just couldn’t tank PuGging anymore. I had tried groups where it was with some people I knew & I would tell them, “This girl can off-tank. Her Dps spec isn’t that great so she doesn’t do much damage.” Yeah, Wrath I was lucky if I got 1k in damage in Fury Spec on that girl. Her highest damage if I remember correctly was somewhere around like 600 or so.
I had been in a Pug raid where there were people I knew (Splat included) where I had told them I would off-tank, but my dps spec sucked. I got kicked out from that group because of low damage & Splat went with them & stayed with them until that group fell apart. When I got kicked from that group, the PuGgers that were in that group all followed me out & constantly asked to duel request me. My addon kept telling them “NO”, but they still insisted. I told Splat what was going on outside of the WG Raid by the people who were still in his group & he did nothing nor said nothing.
I had tried PuGging with friends & would get vote kicked during Wrath from low dps even when I got help from the best raiders I knew on that realm.
I had tried tanking the Pre-Cata stuff, but my laptop at that time was dying on me & I would tell the groups “Hey, I’m lagging bad here.” & they would just ignore me even when I would constantly remind them of what was going on. That laptop would only a few weeks later would start to randomly shut down on it’s own & soon after that only run for about maybe 15 minutes IF I was lucky.
So this girl doesn’t tank unless she absolutely has to & ONLY for friends & guild groups. I’m tired of getting talked back to & being ignored & being emotionally attacked because people want to be freaking idiots & feel all big & mighty behind the computer screen.
I’m sorry if I don’t wanna BASH my head into the wall continuously anymore because people wanna be total jerks in PuG’s. Heck, even going on Stormi for healing or dps, I have been called names & talked down to by many people. There have been only very few & far between good groups of any PuG’s.
That is also my main reason to not PuG at all. I’m tired of all the damage that these jerks have done to me.
