Not sure what this box’s purpose is, but it’s next to a rather large foot bridge at a playground in Tannersville, PA. I suspect there’s a plaque or display meant to be underneath.

The wood construction looked rather fresh so I wonder if it was meant to hold something together while cement or mortar cured?
