Goodbye

This is the last picture I ever took of Kelli.

She was admitted for abdominal pain and it was determined that she needed her gall bladder removed. The routine, non-invasive surgery couldn’t be done because of all the other surgeries Kelli’s had throughout her life, so they had to do the old school “giant cut and dig around for it” method.

A few days later, just past midnight on June 19th, mere hours after I went home for the night, she passed away.

It was my birthday.

I’m writing this almost a year later. I still miss her so very much every day.

    • I don’t know if this will help or hurt but another online friend, Mary Ann, has been writing to cope with loss of loved one, too, and her posts and her artwork are beautiful and shimmering with emotions. Ignore if this sharing (and accept apology) if sharing her work causes you more pain, Aaron.
